About Concilia Header Pic

You might know us as Concilia. Or maybe you know us as Australians Together. Well, from 16th February 2016, everyone will know us as Australians Together!

We officially launched Concilia in 2010. Since then, we’ve been working on a range of activities and continuing to listen and learn. In 2014, we launched Australians Together, a major initiative of our organisation.

We’re so excited by the momentum Australians Together has gained we’ve decided to adopt the name Australians Together across our entire organisation.

As an organisation, we’re passionate about seeing a better future for Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians. There have been many attempts to create a better future for Indigenous people that haven't always resulted in good outcomes. We’re taking a different approach. We exist to help Indigenous and non-Indigenous people think about how they can create a better future, together.

The reason we exist hasn't changed, and will always stay the same.

The meaning behind the name Concilia is still vitally important to us. Re-conciliation refers to the restoration of an existing relationship that was broken. We called ourselves ‘Concilia’ because we believe that a healthy relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people was never really established in the first place - there isn't a relationship to restore! We need to start from scratch. We need conciliation.

It’s time for Australians, Indigenous and non-Indigenous, to think about how we relate and create a better future together. The name Australians Together describes both our approach and our hope. It’s a perfect fit for our organisation.

So why don't you join us as we make a difference in our nation?

All you need to do is Listen, Learn, Live.
